• Includes the businesses that are starting to attract attention
• Requires some investment and is critical for the organisation’s future performance
• Represents the organisation’s future earnings generators

Horizon Three – Staircases for Growth

• Contains the seeds for tomorrow’s businesses & future opportunities
• Early stage, but may be more than just ideas (eg. investments)
• Includes activities that may not be immediate revenue generators
• Requires rolling investment at various levels
• Promising directions are nurtured; diminishing potential is excised
